That’s why we permanently cut Ontario’s gas and fuel taxes, saving the average household nearly $500 a year and putting $2.3 billion back into the pockets of families and businesses across the province.
Lower gas taxes don’t just mean savings at the pump. The price of fuel affects the cost of moving goods, running a business and getting everyday products onto store shelves. Keeping fuel taxes low helps lower costs across our economy.
And while President Trump’s tariffs continue to create uncertainty for Ontario workers, families and businesses, keeping costs down is more important than ever.
Ontario is doing its part to keep costs down, and we’ve urged the federal government to do the same by extending its suspension of the federal excise tax on gasoline, diesel and aviation fuels, with the goal of making that relief permanent.
